Safer Britannica

Parklands College Learners Release "Safer Britannica" on the Apple App Store.

In 2018 Parklands College wanted to start using Britannica's subscription based website as a research and content tool. As an Apple 1:1 school we use iPad in our Preparatory faculty with controlled Internet access. Britannica did not have a closed iPad app to access their content and we were not willing to allow the use of a standard browser. Our incubator team lead, Stephan Cilliers, suggested that we adapt our previously developed app, "Safer Web", and lock it into the Britannica website. As a result "Safer Britannica" was born in just over two hours. It was the fastest development cycle we have had so far and shows the power of reusing code.
